About me

Urban Brulc is a specialist in orthopaedic surgery and a teaching assistant at the University of Novo Mesto. His subspecialty focus is spinal disorders.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana in 2017, receiving a special recognition for outstanding academic achievement. Immediately after graduation, he joined Sanatorij MD Medicina and began his residency. Early in his training, he developed a particular interest in spinal disorders and started performing surgeries under the supervision of renowned spinal surgeons. In 2024, he completed his specialization in orthopaedic surgery »cum laude«.

Dr. Brulc teaches students at the University of Novo Mesto and at a private higher education institution in Ljubljana. He regularly participates in professional orthopaedic courses both in Slovenia and abroad. He is a member of the Slovenian Orthopaedic Association, the Slovenian Spine Society, and the international AO SPINE community. In 2023, he became the head of the medical team for the Slovenian women’s handball national team.

His scientific and research work began with his Prešeren student thesis. To date, he has published several articles in internationally recognized SCI journals and has actively participated in national and international conferences. In 2022, he completed his doctoral dissertation entitled “Operative Treatment of Patients with Osteochondral Lesions of the Talus”, earning a PhD.
